Courtney & Anthony

between the pines fall engagement photos

Courtney and Anthony are essentially the DREAM couple. We had their engagement session at Stony Creek Metro Park, which is one of my favorite locations to shoot at. They have these insanely gorgeous pine trees that were the perfect location to begin their session. I was honestly so jealous that they got their photos there because this is actually where I wanted me and my now husband, Joe, to take our engagement photos. #jealous. On the day that me and Joe were getting our engagement photos taken, the park had randomly shut down for the day. I know... bummer right? We ended up having to take photos outside of the park instead which they turned out beautiful, but still!

We started off their engagement session in the midst of these pine trees and let me tell you... they look JUST as beautiful in person as they do in photos. Courtney and Anthony also brought along their pup, Murph, the most adorable pup ever. I usually don't take many individual photos of couple's dogs when they bring them along, but I just couldn't resist. Murphy also has his own IG account, so if you want to check that out click here! Normally when couples want to bring their pup to a session, I recommend they bring a friend to watch them while we take some solo portraits. On this day however, there wasn't anybody there to watch him so we ended up having to wrap his leash around a tree for a portion of their session.

Whenever I shoot engagement sessions, I often get comments from couples saying "we're not good in front of the camera" or "we're shy". However most of the time, they get in front of the camera and look like absolute models and that's what happened here! Courtney and Anthony looked like the ultimate power couple and moved so swiftly in front of the camera, you would have never guessed they were "camera shy". After finishing up by the pine trees, we made our way over to an open field in the park. They both expressed to me that they loved the vintage look of my photos, so I made sure to get plenty of those for them. I typically like to ask my couples what type of vibes they are going for with their photos so I can tailor my editing/shooting to what they're looking for. Courtney and Anthony on the other hand were incredibly flexible and go with the flow, so we really got to play around and be creative. We basically ran around the park and had a lot of laughs up until the point we had to part ways and honestly, it was the perfect way to end a perfect day.

I had such an amazing time capturing Courtney & Anthony's engagement session and I can't wait to photograph their wedding this upcoming July!
