Natalie & Tyler

When planning a styled shoot there is a LOT of moving parts and for anybody who has ever organized one I know you would say that it can be a VERY stressful time. This styled shoot with Natalie & Tyler was my first styled shoot for me to plan ever and although there were up's and downs, the results were completely worth it.

Since this was my first styled shoot that I planned and put together, there was a lot of stress and responsibility. To be honest, there were many times where I wanted to cancel it because of all of the pressures I felt but I kept moving forward. My husband was my biggest supporter during this entire process and I am so thankful he was there throughout this process. Another shoutout to Francisca and Micah at Spoke Events for helping me plan this styled shoot and make my vision come to life.

We did this shoot at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Hart, Michigan and little did we know all of the obstacles that we would have to face! It was a hot day and we made sure to get there a couple hours early to location scout and set up. It was then that we realized that we could not carry our two truck loads of supplies up the gigantic hill to get to the dunes. We then had to go through about an hour long process of driving around and getting permits and safety flags for our cars so that we could drive to the sand dunes location.

After setting everything up, we began taking photos of the details and that's when obstacle #2 striked. The groom had gotten a flat tire on the way to shoot about 45 minutes away. We ended up taking photos of the bride and details for a lot longer than planned but eventually he arrived and we were able to rock and roll. By that time the sun was basically down but we still had blue hour to work with for a bit of light. We did have to work fast to get the photos that we wanted but it worked out amazing still.

The bride and groom looked absolutely stunning. Natalie was wearing a Flora Bridal dress from Ali Nicole Bridal and it looked amazing on her!! The groom was wearing such a nice suit from Zara and both of them together looked like an absolute dream. As for wedding details, the earrings were from Sincerely Confidence while the invitations were from an Etsy shop called Lily and Fern Co. The wedding cake was by Lincoln at Flour House Cakes and all of the vintage rentals such as cups, silverware and plates were from Gigi Laclede.

It was a long day but a perfect one at that. I seriously couldn't have done it without the support of my husband before the shoot and the day of and everyone involved in making this styled shoot come to life. I felt so proud for hosting this event and we even got PUBLISHED in Whimsical Wonderland Weddings! To read all about it, click here! It seriously was the best feeling in the world and I couldn't have done it without everyone.

Photos By Gayle does more than just take photos of people. Rather, it is capturing moments of LOVE and HAPPINESS. Singing to the skies, dancing in a field, smiles that hurt because they’re so big. There is nothing else I would rather be doing than photographing these unique details that make you and your significant other a couple.
