California Couples Photoshoot On Laguna Beach
There are moments where as a Destination Elopement Photographer that feel like complete fate. On my most recent trip to California to shoot a wedding, my husband/second shooter, Joe, and I had a few hours to kill before our wedding. Naturally, we made our way to one of the most iconic beaches in California, aka Laguna Beach. Now, I must admit, I did have an agenda with this quick little beach trip before the wedding. I had brought along my camera in hopes that I would find a couple on the beach for what I like to call a mini "barely there" photoshoot. So little time but a great way to meet new people and have a little bit of fun. Once we arrived and walked around the beach for a bit, it seemed as if all hope was lost. However, as our journey towards the end of the beach crept up on us that is where it hit. A gorgeous couple setting up their beach chairs and it was at that moment that I knew I had to photograph them. In a totally non-creepy and artistic way, ya know. While a small and short photoshoot, these Laguna Beach California Couples photos were some of my favorite I've ever taken.
Kylie & Jake's Laguna Beach California Couples Photos
I approached Kylie and Jake eagerly as I really had hoped that they would allow me to take a few photos of them. Naturally, we began talking and they happily agreed to let me, a complete stranger, take their photos. Like I mentioned, this photoshoot on Laguna Beach was completely impromptu and I had originally lost hope. Luckily, Kylie and Jake were there at the right place at the right time and they were willing to work with me! We spent the next few minutes just having them run into the water, hold each other close and really just embrace the spontaneity of the moment. It's spur of the moment times like these that bring me so much joy. No planning and completely and 100% raw which is exactly what I was going for with my mission here to Laguna Beach, California.
Shortly after their very brief Laguna Beach California couples photos, we began talking and learned quite a few things about Kylie and Jake. Both had recently relocated to LA for a brief while from Utah! We found out that we had mutual friends on social media and quickly realized how much we actually have in common. Kylie and Jake were at Laguna Beach for a quick day trip with friends and truly it was fate that brought us together to celebrate the two lovers.
Take this as your sign that if a photographer were to come up to you, do the photoshoot. You may be pleasantly surprised and you'll never know what kind of connections that you will make along the way. This morning spent with Kylie and Jake for their Laguna Beach California couples photos was one that I will never forget. Shortly after our quick beach photoshoot, we made our way to our venue to document Abbey and Jason's wedding and it was pure and utter bliss.
