Julia & Nick’s Goldner Walsh Pontiac Michigan Wedding

Julia and Nick both live in Pontiac, Michigan. It’s where their engagement photos took place and is now the center of their wedding day. When I arrived, I was ready to take on the day with full force. Nick came in wearing his baby blue suit with his blue suede shoes which made him look incredibly dapper. Ready to take on his wedding day for sure! Julia was finalizing her wedding day look in the on-site getting-ready areas at Goldner Walsh. She slipped into the wedding dress that fit her like an absolute glove as she awaited the moments before her first looks.

First Looks

At the time of their wedding, Goldner Walsh Garden & Homes was still open to the public. This means that trying to find a first-look location seemed like a very difficult task. However, we were able to make it work and find this gorgeous nursery for Julia and Nick to have their first look and read their wedding vows. It’s in moments like these that tend to get very emotional, so always be prepared for the waterworks people! Well worth it, but waterproof mascara and tissues never hurt either.

Shortly after their first look, we seized the opportunity to take some wedding portraits. The lighting was just perfect and we were surrounded by all of these beautiful plants and flowers, so why not? Julia and Nick, again, no strangers to the camera absolutely killed it during their wedding portraits. I felt like the ultimate fly on the wall, which is honestly what I want for your wedding day. You could tell that Julia and Nick got lost in the moment and were completely consumed by one another, which is all that I can ask for on your special day. These photos turned out to be some of my favorites throughout the day.

Game time officially struck when it was time for their ceremony. Unlike a traditional ceremony, there was no center aisle for Julia and Nick to walk down. Instead, guests' chairs were propped on stone stairs while the entrance aisle was to the side of the altar. Accompanied by Julia’s Maid of Honor and Nick’s Best Man, an emotional wedding ceremony took place. Despite the first look and slew of emotions, the wedding ceremony was just as touching and intimate.

Once Julia and Nick were pronounced Mr. and Mrs., they took some time alone with their MOH and Best Man to sit back and relax. Opening up a bottle of champagne, exchanging gifts, and just spending some time unwinding and calming down from all of the excitement. Something that you don’t get to see too often on wedding days but it's something I absolutely loved.

I just have to say, that this wedding reception was L-I-T, LIT! Both Julia and Nick know how to throw a party and everything from the speeches to the food to even their music choices absolutely spoke to who they were. It was a night that was filled with so much laughter and dancing, seriously we just couldn't get enough of it. It was the perfect way to end a beautiful night celebrating Julia & Nick's love.
