Bridals At The State Capitol In Salt Lake City, Utah

Being a recent Utah transplant, it's so much fun being able to explore new locations and find beautiful places to make art. Over the past few months that we have been in Salt Lake City, Utah we have been able to see many beautiful photo locations. From mountains to valleys and even downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. Everything has been absolutely magical and getting to photograph my couples in all these different locations has been an absolute dream. One standout place, however, would have to be the Utah State Capitol. Okay, hear me out... it's not just a government building but rather a gorgeous designed structure with windows towering above us, and a design of what seems like Greek influence. I had the honor of tagging along with one of my photographer colleagues on this magical bridal session at the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City, Utah and it was breathtakingly beautiful.

What Is A Bridal Session?

To many of you, this may seem like your run-of-the-mill bridal session. While yes, it totally is, there are many benefits to doing a separate bridal session from your wedding day. First things first, you're going to need to know the definition of a bridal session. A bridal session is a separate photoshoot dedicated to capturing either the bride or bride and groom in their wedding attire. This session can be after your wedding day and is especially helpful if you feel like you didn't get enough photos of the two of you on your wedding day. This could be because of weather or lighting situations that happened on the day of your wedding.

Benefits Of Having A Bridal Session

You Get To Dress Up More Than Once

I don't know about you, but any excuse to get dressed up more than once is a perfect reason in my book! Having a bridal session allows you to put on your wedding dress/tux and get glammed up once again. Your wedding day does not have to be the only day that you get to feel like a king/queen. Instead, booking a bridal session allows you to glam up and feel good!

More Time With Your Partner On The Day Of The Wedding

If you value quality time with your partner on your wedding day, then booking a bridal session will give you just that. While I do encourage taking some couples portraits on the day of your wedding, if you would rather spend time with friends, and family and be in the moment, then a bridal session is perfect for you. You can have time with your partner, enjoy your wedding day as it comes, and be able to get beautiful couples portraits with a bridal session on a different day. Honestly, I think this is a win-win!

Get To Be Creative & Try New Things

One of the many reasons that couples choose to have bridal sessions is that they get to step outside of their comfort zone. Bridal sessions are meant to give you and your partner the opportunity to go somewhere different, try different poses, and really experiment with your wedding portraits. It gives you creative freedom and allows you to really step into yourself and make some beautiful art in the celebration of one of the most important moments of your lives.

So, while bridal sessions are not seen as an absolute necessity in most people's eyes, I highly encourage you to reconsider. These sessions are a chance to get creative, get glam and have fun.
