Utah Fall Engagement Photos On The Alpine Loop

When Amanda and Rob first inquired for their Utah engagement photos, they made it very clear that Fall foliage was definitely high on their priority list. They wanted to make sure that we embraced all of the beautiful Fall colors, but trying to find the perfect spot is always the trickiest part. A few days prior to their session, I was able to location scout around some areas of Utah that are known for their Fall foliage. One in particular being the Alpine Loop which is known for its scenic drives and stunning lush greenery and foliage. It was the perfect place to take Amanda and Rob's Utah engagement photos and they turned out better than I ever could have imagined.

Utah engagement photos on the alpine loop

The Alpine Loop is a 20-mile drive that runs through rugged alpine canyons. Unlike Fall foliage in the North, here in Utah you will find stunning Golden Aspen Trees which photograph beautifully. They were the perfect backdrop for Amanda and Rob and exactly what they were looking for when it came time for their Utah engagement photos. For Amanda and Rob's Utah engagement photos they wanted to be able to hit multiple different locations to fit the different themes that they were looking for. With so many different locations, themes and such a large canyon to cover surface, it was apparent that a normal engagement session was not in the cards for Amanda and Rob. Luckily, Amanda and Rob were able to upgrade their engagement package to an adventure session which gave us all of the time to explore the Alpine Loop, the canyons and get the dreamy Utah engagement photos that they were looking for.

I met up with Amanda and Rob at the base of the canyon, where we were able to hop in their car to carpool up the canyon to our first location. Surrounded by golden Aspen trees, we stopped and took a few photos in this meadow where we embraced the slightly chilly but gorgeous Utah weather and scenery. We drove a little bit further into the canyon where we found our second location. Here we had the snowcapped mountains in the back along with some gorgeous mix of the golden Aspen and pine trees which was everything that Amanda and Rob wanted for their Utah engagement photos. It was actually the idea that Amanda had suggested on her consult call with me weeks prior, but it was fate that timed it all perfectly for us.

On our last stop for Amanda and Rob's Utah engagement photos, we got to this little clearing where we had Amanda and Rob set up a little picnic. Especially for any couples wanting a more storytelling type feel to their Utah engagement photos, I always encourage to bring along special props to help set the mood. In this case, Amanda and Rob brought along a little picnic basket, blanket, a stool and even ingredients to make their very own drinks. They were even so kind to share with me an aperol spritz, which was absolutely delicious. Rob even was able to sneak his football into the prop bag which made things all the more unique and *very* them. I had location scouted this spot the day before and there were a ton of photographer's there, rightfully so since it is such a beautiful spot. Luckily for us though, it wasn't as crowded and we were able to get some gorgeous photos.

Amanda and Rob did a quick outfit change as it got dark and we were able to play a little bit more with flash photos and get some cool shots as it got darker. They even added on film to their engagement session package, so getting to play around with the different feel of film photos adds a whole new dimension to their Utah engagement photos that I absolutely love!
